Thanks Everyone for 2.5 Years of inspiring Art & Music in Orange County!

The Light Gallery definitely left its mark on the overly conservative Orange County.

It had been an amazing Run.. 2+ Years on 17th st, on the Newport Beach / Costa Mesa boarder.
Over 100 Art exhibitions, Music and Charity events hosted..

A  changing  of the times combined with a grumpy old man neighbor next door,
signaled it was time for a change.. We  had officially outgrown our old location on 17th St.

After spending more than a year searching for a new location in the Orange County area, things didn’t fall into place as we expected. OC is spread out, and there isn’t a whole lot of unified support for Artists.

The Artwalk that we worked to build up with other local Art galleries didn’t receive much support from the City of Costa Mesa (a city that prides itself on the calling itself “The City of the Arts? ” ) The timing was right for a new direction..

This in turn lead The Light Galleries Director and Curator Steven Borts to temporarily step away from his multiple roles within the organization, and focus his energy on his personal music projects and travel throughout South America in 2013.

After relocating to San Diego in 2014, a new found sense of inspiration has been building.
We’ve been in talks to collaborate with local SD Arts collectives and  to seek out new creative projects & opportunities within the Arts community.

Things are aligning for the return of The Light Galleries..
